The Palo Alto Veterans Institute for Research (PAVIR) is seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support for research projects and program activities within Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) and Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC). The Administrative Assistant will rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Duties for this position shall be performed in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and in fulfillment of VA and DVBIC's standards of excellence, utilizing continuous improvements in processes, policies, and procedures to optimize productivity and service to our customers. This is a temporary (6 months), part-time (20-29 hours a week), non-exempt (hourly-paid) position. Salary range: $15 - $23.75 per hour. Benefits:

Special Projects / Miscellaneous: Assist with logistics, scheduling, catering, registrations, website maintenance, and other miscellaneous tasks as needed. Requirements: EDUCATION: Required: High school diploma; Desired: Bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE: Required: 2-3 years of related experience performing similar functions. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Environmental Conditions / Physical Demands: Physical: Lifting office supplies, sitting at a computer, walking to run errands, deliver supplies. etc. Environmental: Typical office environment with heavy computer usage.
