The research associate will work closely with James Dai and other group members and collaborators to conduct statistical analysis of high-dimensional omics data, and develop statistical methodologies and computational algorithms in the areas of genetic epidemiology, cancer genetics, cancer epigenetics and genomics. Particular research topics include, but are not limited to, machine learning and big data, gene-treatment interaction, mediation methods, genomic regional test, eQTL, meQTL and TWAS methods in cancer research. The associate will lead manuscript writing in statistics and cancer genetics, and present methods and discoveries in meetings and conferences. The associate will also engage with collaborators in cancer epidemiology, genomics and medicine, lead group meetings, andprovide statistical consultation and technical support to collaborators.
The successful candidate will have the capability to identify and address statistical challenges from cancer epidemiologic and biological questions, develop rigorous statistical and computational methods, and implement methods through efficient programs and algorithms. The ideal candidate will have effective communication and writing skills to present in statistical and genetic meetings, provide consultations and lead manuscript writing.
Qualified candidates must have at least a PhD degree in Bioinformatics, Genomics, Biostatistics, or related quantitative field. In addition, preferred candidates will have experience in collaborating with research scientists and performing bioinformatics/genomics data analysis.
