Primary Purpose: The role of the Director is to purposefully engage members with TCEA and all it offers.
Key Activities: The top priorities of the role are to:
Recruit and retain members.
Oversee the association’s online community.
Represent the association at key events.
Oversee the association’s awards and scholarship program.
Encourage and support volunteer leadership in their efforts to advance the association.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Develop and direct a comprehensive marketing and communication program for membership recruitment and retention.
Provide strategic direction and financial planning of the membership department as it relates to the association’s strategic goals.
Communicate membership benefits, programs, and services to members and prospects resulting in increased recruitment and retention.
Listen to what needs the membership have and help to develop new services to meet those needs.
Attend and speak at TCEA-hosted events to promote awareness and build membership.
Actively participate in TCEA-hosted webinars and group chats and serve as a liaison for the members.
Oversee the membership administrative assistant.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, English, or Communications required; graduate degree in Business or Marketing helpful
Minimum of three years’ experience in association management or sales and marketing experience directly related to association management
Proven experience in strategic marketing, writing promotional copy, direct sales, direct mail, managing volunteers, supervision, budgeting, financial management and analysis, short- and long-range planning, database management, and public speaking
Significant experience with web-based CRM or AMS software/management system (Fonteva/Salesforce preferred)
