Director, Community Engagement Center - (1900016Y)
The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), Office of Community Engagement is currently recruiting for a Director, Community Engagement Center . This position will Direct operational functions for the University's Community Engagement Center (CEC). This position will work within the University's Office of Community Engagement to set strategic goals and tactics to achieve the center's objectives. Manage and plan operations including program and data management for the center.

Oversee Center operations and administration, including program management, space planning, and data management.
Develop programs and solutions that are aligned with the university and community's goals.
Develop, evaluate, and implement operations policies and procedures for the Center.
Provide leadership and direction to CEC staff to achieve goals and vision of the center and responsible for hiring and retaining staff, career coaching, professional development and accountable for the performance of employees.
Collaborate with the leadership team to plan for and conduct focus groups, evaluations, and/or surveys to community partners to identify community needs and strengthen programs.
Consult with senior management to determine boundaries and priorities of new projects. Meet with area stakeholders interested in forming new program collaborations with the CEC.
Organize, develop, and provide consultation to program funders when needed.
Develop, track, and revise operational goals in alignment with growth planning for the Center. Compile and report program outcome data for community engagement projects
Support and maintain long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with community partners that foster sustainable community partnerships.
Manage the planning, development and implementation of organizational and community engagement events and initiatives held at the CEC.
Conduct internal and external presentations on UMB's community events and initiatives. Represent UMB at community partnership committee meetings and with coalitions such as the Southwest Partnership.
Increase the number of students participating in civic engagement experiences by working collaboratively with UMB Academic and Student Affairs to develop programmatic initiatives that create partnerships between students, faculty and community partners.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelors in related field, such as business or public administration.
Experience: Six (6) years of related experience in program management, nonprofit management, community development with at least two (2) years of experience of overall responsibility for program direction, coordination and implementation. Counseling skills, educational instruction experience, or case management experience preferred.
Supervisory: Two (2) years' experience at the management/leadership level. Three (3) years' experience preferred.
Other: No substitution of experience for minimum education requirement.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Organizational, record keeping and time management skills required.
Knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word, Power Point and other database software required.
Strong interpersonal and listening skills are required to work effectively with various levels of employees and management staff.
Highly effective communication skills are necessary to work with all levels of management, various personnel within the University, medical center, as well as the external community.
