Job Summary: The College of Architecture, Planning and Public Affairs (CAPPA) at the University of Texas at Arlington seeks applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in Architecture to be hired for Fall of 2020 at the rank of assistant professor. For this position, we seek applicants with a focus on design-build. An additional interest in community engagement is encouraged. Essential Duties: The faculty member in this position will provide leadership of CAPPA's fast-growing design-build program within its School of Architecture and will assist in the development of the UTA Community Design Center. The candidate who fills this position will be expected to teach courses related to design-build and provide leadership of the expanding design-build program and its curriculum as well as serve on departmental, college, and university committees. Required Qualifications: A professional degree in Architecture (M.Arch. or a B.Arch + graduate degree in architecture or an allied field); record of peer-reviewed research/creative practice commensurate with appointment at the rank of tenure-track assistant professor. Preferred Qualifications: Licensure/professional registration; experience mentoring women and minority faculty and students. Strong evidence of research/creative practice and teaching focused on design-build projects, community engagement, and sustainable design practices, as well as administrative experience, are highly desirable.
