Position Title: Development Associate FLSA Classification: Full time, non-exempt Reports to: Director of Development Position Purpose: Provide support to the development department.

The position begins as soon as possible.
Assist with digital and written communications as they pertain to development communications, including constituent outreach and engagement such as the annual report, acknowledgments, and email communications.
Assist in the implementation of all aspects of the school's development program, including annual giving, major giving, and other areas.
Assist with fundraising, volunteer committees, prepare materials, and other as needed.
Plan and help execute advancement-sponsored events, including the annual spring fundraiser, grandparents and special friends day, donor cultivation and stewardship events, volunteer thank you events, graduation, athletics banquet, and others as needed.
Create and maintain event plans, vendors, facilities, attendee tracking and registration, and timelines to ensure successful events.
Help recruit and manage volunteers to support advancement events such as grandparents and special friends day, annual spring fundraiser, and other events.
Work closely with volunteers to support them in the annual spring fundraising event.
Assist in the development of strategy for engagement, and plan and help execute events for a diverse alumni base, including new-college parents' care packages assembly, 8th grade/freshman high school transition dinner, reunion events, and others.
Grow alumni participation in annual giving, plus identify and develop cultivation strategies for alumni capable of leadership support.
Leverage diverse media platforms (print, social, web, and email) in collaboration with communications and marketing manager to maximize alumni outreach and build alumni database (with a focus on email address acquisition).
Provide support for other projects as needed.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of 2 years office experience, preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting.
Events and project management experience.
Ability to work independently and take initiative to meet deadlines in a time sensitive environment with attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience in recruiting, managing, and coordinating volunteers.
Able to work within and manage a budget.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and relate well to volunteers, students, parents, faculty, staff, and others while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), Google applications and Gmail, social media (Facebook and LinkedIn), and MailChimp.
Knowledge of donor database platforms, specifically Raiser's Edge, a plus.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Work in standard office conditions and climate.
May work in varied extreme outside weather conditions during special activities and fundraising events.
Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard of work station.
Some evening and weekend work required.
Works in a highly stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
