The Texas Society of Architects/AIA (TxA) is the voice for Texas architecture, supporting the creation of safe, beautiful, sustainable environments. The Society is a Regional Component of The American Institute of Architects.
TxA is a 501(c)(6) trade association representing over 7300 members and has 13 staff positions at present. The successful candidate will be able to work well in a team environment, and interface comfortably with diverse staff.
The Marketing / Social Media Specialist works directly under the Executive Vice President to promote the Society’s membership programs and conferences via multiple media channels.
The Social Media/Marketing Coordinator will perform the marketing, public relations and Social Media functions of Texas Society of Architects.
Research, plan, and compose marketing content for the Society’s websites, social media platforms, marketing copy, newsletters, emails, in-app notifications, blogs, articles, conference registration, etc.
Use data analytics and research to evaluate content’s impact.
Adapt/create and publish content for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
Make regular website updates to texasarchitects.org, including home page banners, award program updates, event information, job postings, calendar items, board, committee, and chapter lists, etc
Manage CE-approval process: submit sessions and tours to AIA and TBAE, creating learning objectives and communicating with AIA and presenters as needed.
Manage TxA programs for various conference events, including Keynote Sessions, New Architect Convocation, Gallery Soiree, and President’s Reception; draft talking points for TxA president, new architect introductions, and other remarks as needed; create slides for all events (in conjunction with designer); lead rehearsals.
Update printed entry/nomination packets for Design, Studio, and Honor Awards.
Prepare and test online submissions portals for entries.
Ensure that marketing and editorial content produced by the Society is clearly written, accurate, and consistent with TxA and AP style.
Copyedit and prepare content for various print/online materials, including convention website and marketing materials, convention session, tour, and event descriptions, award certificates, the onsite program guide, exhibitor/sponsorship materials, annual TxA Emerging Design + Technology printed proceedings, etc.
Prepare and mail out welcome/congratulations packets to new members and new architects.
Candidates should have 2+ years professional marketing and social media experience.
Excellent writing, editing, and general communication capabilities.
Experience working with content standards, such as style and voice and tone guidelines.
At ease managing multiple projects, setting stakeholder expectations, working individually and collaborating across teams.
Experience in Associations and/or membership organizations preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Design, Information Science or related field.
Amicable personality that works well with others and communicates easily with a variety of generations.
