DEPARTMENT: Workforce Education Institute - Center for Workforce and Community Education
REPORTS TO: Dean of Workforce and Community Education
STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Center for Workforce and Community Education provides high quality, market-responsive training to support the evolving workforce. We serve businesses of all sizes, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and individuals trying to improve their skillset for meaningful employment.
Non-Credit Instructors are subject matter experts who educate Workforce/Corporate Services clients. They provide and tailor training and courses to our business partners and may also deliver open enrollment courses for the general public. The Workforce/Corporate Services portfolio includes, but is not limited to, training on the following topics:
Leadership & Management: Supervisory, executive coaching, mentoring, project management/agile/scrum, and human resources topics. Process Improvement: Lean/Six Sigma and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) practices. Office Technologies: Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Project and Google suite. Foundational Skills: Communication, problem solving, inter-cultural awareness, time management, and basic computer skills. Sales & Customer Service: Customer experience, consultative sales, and customer centric approaches. Technical/Industry-Specific Training: Engineers with machining and advanced manufacturing experience, ServSafe/TIPS, OSHA, and CPR.
Non-Credit Instructors may be subject matter experts in more than one area. They are expected to exhibit strong organizational skills and handle clients' confidential information in a sensitive manner, while maintaining the highest level of integrity in all client interactions and respecting their organizational cultures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as a training representative of Bristol's Workforce Center, promoting Center's training portfolio and services.
Provide regular status updates and feedback on training project implementation; refer questions and issues promptly to Center staff.
Consult with clients in collaboration with Center staff to conduct assessment to identify areas of training needs, design effective training programs, and prepare educational material to client specifications.
Conduct seminars, workshops, and individual training sessions, as scheduled.
Keep attendance and other course-related records; return all materials and records in a timely fashion to Center staff upon conclusion of assignment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in related field.
Appropriate experience and/or training.
Demonstrated experience as corporate trainer, consultant, and/or coach/mentor.
Demonstrated understanding of organizational development principles and adult learning theory.
Demonstrated understanding of effective teaching methodologies and tools.
Demonstrated commitment to remaining current in emerging trends, topics, and new research in subject matter area(s) of expertise.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; cloud-based software, such as Basecamp and Salesforce; as well as e-learning software.
Strong communication, presentation, and public speaking skills.
The ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.
Master's degree in related field.
Appropriate licensure and/or industry specific certification where applicable.
Experience with adopting new learning technologies and techniques.
Ability to speak a language in addition to English.

POSITION STATUS: This is a part-time, grant-funded, non-unit, non-benefited position, some nights and weekends may be required.
Non-Credit Instructors are part time instructors hiredon an as needed basis. Courses may be offered as face-to-face sections on Bristol's campuses in Attleboro, Fall River, New Bedford, and/or Taunton, as well as various corporate sites. Courses may also be offered as online sections. Most training is delivered on weekdays, during normal business hours, on-site at the client facility. However, courses may be held in the evening and on weekends depending on need.
Please note: Positions will be available as needed and are contract-based. This may allow for multiple, overlapping training projects as needed.
SALARY: Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
