About the Opportunity: The Human Services Program and the Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) Program of Northeastern University seek to fill a benefits-eligible, full-time position of Assistant Teaching Professor, beginning in the 2020 fall semester. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in the nonprofit sector and will be passionate about the intersection of women's, gender, and sexuality studies and social change. Special consideration will be given to candidates able to teach a variety of elective and required, foundational courses in both units. Full-time teaching load is three courses per semester, to be divided evenly among the two units, with professional development and service also expected. Candidates must demonstrate excellence in teaching. The position has an established promotion ladder from Assistant to Associate to Full Teaching Professor and opportunity for multi-year contracts.
Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent required at the time of appointment. All disciplines are welcome to apply. Evidence of effective teaching experience is required. Practical experience in the field of public health and/or social work preferred, particularly where that experience intersects with concerns of gender and sexuality.
