ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT
The Division of Administration and Economics is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor of Hospitality Management, commencing September 1, 2020.

The Division The Division of Administration & Economics delivers a B.S. in Hospitality Management, a B.S. in Enterprise Regulation: Profit and Nonprofit, a B.S. in Fashion Studies, and in collaboration with the Tobin School of Business, an M.S. in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Faculty focus on preparing students for administrative positions in industry specific disciplines in business. Our faculty focus on key areas of skill development that include critical thinking, oral and written expression, team membership, leadership, and employment readiness. Responsibilities This is a teaching-intensive position (9-12 credit hours per semester) with opportunities for research reductions. Research productivity is important, but secondary to teaching excellence and a strong commitment to student engagement. Division faculty are expected to participate in academic advisement, student mentoring, academic assessment, and other activities as required by the Chair and/or Dean.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a doctorate in Hospitality Management and have experience teaching undergraduate hospitality management classes as the instructor of record. Area of expertise is open, but strong preference will be given to those candidates with teaching and research interests in hospitality accounting/finance, event management, or lodging. Preference will be given to candidates with relevant industry experience and knowledge of the New York City hospitality market. Candidates should be familiar with technology-supported learning pedagogy and be able to integrate technology into teaching. Candidates must exhibit potential for research productivity and professional growth.
