| Location: Hyde Park Campus Job Description: Unit-specific Responsibilities 1) Write creative content for a variety of media, including brochures, websites, reports, posters, postcards, social media and the like. 2) Communicate complex University of Chicago topics, including faculty research and University history and culture. 3) Maintain a collaborative, team-oriented approach Take ownership of projects at each phase until final delivery. 4) Be instrumental in providing creative ideas for creative pitches to clients. 5) Work seamlessly with graphic designers, conceiving editorial and design concepts in tandem and allowing for design to inform editorial and vice versa. 6) Develop and maintain strong client relations through superb client communications, a client-centric attitude, and a mind for branding and marketing. Unit-preferred Competencies 1) Superior writing skills with a high degree of creativity. 2) Working knowledge and comfort using Microsoft Word. 3) High degree of comfort learning new software and technologies appropriate to business needs of the department and projects as required. 4) Demonstrated ability to multitask in fast-paced work environment and meet deadlines. 5) Excellent client service orientation. 6) Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 7) Ability to engage with complex content across a range of disciplines. 8) Knowledge and understanding of basic marketing principles. 9) Demonstrated ability to write for established brands. 10) Familiarity with the University of Chicago. 11) Nonprofit or higher education communications experience. â‹Preferred Qualifications Education 1) Creative Portfolio School Experience 1) 1-2 years of work experience as a Copywriter in an agency or in-house creative department.
