Position Summary Reporting to the Director of Community Impact (CI), the Assistant Director of Development has oversight for the development process for our university-based student volunteer community service organization. Proposal writing, fundraising, cultivation, and alumni development are the major components of the position. Responsibilities A. Development Plan Design, develop, and implement an effective strategic effort for solicitation, cultivation, and donor relations programs. B. Events Organize and administer special fundraising events, including a benefit auction that is the major annual fundraiser. C. Prospects Identification Lead the work on researching and conducting direct solicitation of assigned individual prospects. D. Proposal Writing Write and submit proposals to a broad range of potential funders, including government agencies, foundations and corporations. E. Marketing, Reports, etc. Plan and execute direct marketing solicitations for CI.
F. Database System Oversee the development and maintenance of the Raisers Edge donor database. Utilize Raisers Edge to produce several direct mailings per year. G. Collaborations Under the direction of the Director, collaborate with:
H. Site visits Identify donors to visit. I. Evaluations/Outcomes Provide support for program staff with regard to evaluation and outcomes for specific programs. J. Other Projects as Assigned Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.
