The Foundation of the Pennsylvania Medical Society is a nonprofit, tax-exempt public organization established in 1954 as the philanthropic affiliate of the Pennsylvania Medical Society. Its mission is to sustain the future of medicine in Pennsylvania by providing programs that support medical education, physician health, and excellence in practice.
The purpose of the Physicians' Health Program (PHP) is to provide education and information about impairment issues, intervention, triage and referral, and monitored recovery to physicians, physician assistants, and dental professionals. The PHP handles a high volume of telephone calls and printed material which can take priority over the primary position responsibilities outlined here.
This position focuses on assuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the functions and resources of the PHP, and that all duties are completed in a timely manner.

Supervisory experience, including interpersonal/human relations skills;
Ability to work with all kinds of people;
Knowledge of addiction/12-step recovery is required;

The mission of the Foundation of the Pennsylvania Medical Society is to provide programs and services for individual physicians and others that improve the well-being of Pennsylvanians and sustain the future of medicine. Established in 1954, the Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, serves as the charitable affiliate of the Pennsylvania Medical Society with a focus to provide: access to medical school education, peer monitoring for physicians who suffer from addiction, and unbiased clinical competency assessment services for physicians. All Foundation programs are undergirded by philanthropic support. Contributions from our generous donors make up more than 45 percent of the operating budget. In addition to the programs listed below, the Foundation also provides bookkeeping and financial service management to more than 30 associations and specialty societies.
