WTTW (Chicago PBS) and WFMT (classical music radio station) are looking for a Finance & Accounting Analyst. This position will provide general support to the Finance & Accounting Department. The position requires strong communication and collaboration skills, working closely with individuals throughout the organization as well as vendors.
Perform revenue and expense variance analysis on budgets and special projects as assigned.
Assist with fulfillment of contractual and financial reporting obligations, tracking and reporting of expenses against program budget and special projects as assigned.
Perform AP, AR and Payroll duties as needed.
Manage vendor relationships and assist Director of FP&A and CFO with pricing negotiation.
Prepare journal entries and accruals as needed.
Perform other accounting tasks as assigned.
Strong accounting skills.
Proficient analytical and quantitative skills.
A strong attention to detail, capabilities to organize and prioritize workload, manage time productively and meet critical deadlines.
Effective communication skills.
Proficiency with general ledger systems. Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
Demonstrated ability in utilizing spreadsheet software including pivot tables, formulas and dashboards.as well as advanced user in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
EXPERIENCE: Candidate must have 2-3 years of accounting experience. Knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll desired. Experience in public broadcasting media and nonprofit organizations preferred.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business related major.
