The Greater Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce is searching for a dynamic and experienced leader for the role of President & CEO.
Job Summary: The Chief Executive Officer will work closely with the Board of Directors, serving as Managing Director of Operations and as the main link between members, businesses and partners within the city of Delray Beach. The ideal candidate for this position should have a clear understanding of the business and political makeup within the city of Delray Beach. The candidate should have previous corporate or non-profit executive management experience and a proven track record for effective team management and results-driven leadership.

Experience and understanding of sound business practices and non-profit governance, including revenue, cash flow, budgeting, banking relationships, and cost containment. Non-profit finance experience including 990's, audit, budgeting and insurances preferred.
Advocacy: Advocate on behalf of Chamber members on public policy matters affecting business.
Strategic Plan: In collaboration with the Board of Directors, create a strategic plan for the Chamber. Maintain responsibility for implementing the strategic objectives of the plan within a reasonable time frame.
Membership: Maintain responsibility for the overall performance of the Chamber’s membership activities including membership acquisition, growth, stewardship, and retention.
Public Relations/Outreach: Create and maintain a dynamic and forward-thinking public image for the organization. Include strategies for marketing, communications, media relations, and community relations. Represent the Chamber in public; attend board and partner meetings.
Fundraising/Sponsorship: Be responsible for the Chamber’s sponsorship relations, donor engagement, grant writing, and program growth. Manage sponsorship activities to raise funds annually from corporate, government and other sources.
Leadership: Lead, manage and develop key employees to achieve Chamber goals. Establish a culture of teamwork and excellence.
Assessment: Identify risks within the organization and problem-solve to find solutions
Branding: Set the tone for Chamber image and culture; serve as the main spokesperson with media and other external stakeholders.
Programs: Manage events and programs on strict timelines in support of membership.
Marketing Communications: Oversee the plan and direct communications including website development and social media strategy.
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or certifications preferred.
Ten years of management experience required, including supervision of professional staff, with a minimum five years at a senior-level management position.
Demonstrated trail of successful leadership in the nonprofit or profit sector, including demonstrated success in change management.
Demonstrated success in fundraising.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Demonstrated success in community leadership.
Experience in working for or serving on a board of directors for a nonprofit organization.
Commitment and experience of working with diverse communities and audiences.
Essential Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions
Lift and carry weight up to approximately 25 pounds. Sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time. Distinguish colors and acceptable eyesight (with or without correction), acceptable hearing (with or without hearing aid). Pulling, pushing, kneeling, bending and stooping, reaching and climbing. Use of telephone and the computer on a regular and continual basis. Also works inside and outside in varying weather conditions which includes noise and heat.
