General Statement (Summary of duties & responsibilities):
The Development Associate is involved in the coordination and assistance of all aspects of operations, marketing and fundraising initiatives for the Outlive Yourself Foundation (OYF). Strong communications and coordination skills are required to work with and facilitate contributor stewardship activities, special events and support of the executive leadership team of Southwest Transplant Alliance and the Outlive Yourself Foundation.
Essential Job Functions:
Executes daily operations of the OYF to meet its strategic objectives.
Creates monthly activity reports and provides general administrative support.
Supports and implements fund-raising and financial strategies necessary to realize the mission.
Assists with budgeting and financial planning as needed.
Represents the Foundation to the community through direct involvement and through public relations activities, including personal contact and presentations.
Assists with event planning and execution as requested.
Raises the profile of the organization within the community.
Ensures legal compliance with all grant provisions.
Works internally and externally to create a culture of philanthropy at Southwest Transplant Alliance.
Supports all philanthropic giving programs for STA employees, boards and advisory councils.
Other duties as assigned.
Normal office environment, travel in light and commercial aircraft, or automobile is required in order to meet all the duties and responsibilities of the position. Is required to use his/her private auto for job-related ground transportation.
Education & Work Experience Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Relations, Marketing, Communication, or related field required.
Five years of experience in grant administration, fundraising and donor relations in the nonprofit sector.
A high degree of financial literacy and demonstrated ability to coordinate donation details and associated paperwork.
Demonstrated experience in working with and supporting executive-level staff.
Must demonstrate highly effective analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, and time management.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team required.
Ability to cope with high levels of stress and able to handle a heavy workload.
Ability to travel in light and commercial aircraft or drive his/her personal auto to meet all job duties and responsibilities. Current Driver’s license required.
