The Development Associate coordinates in-kind donations, working closely with donors as well as program staff to ensure donations are efficiently distributed to the clients and families we serve, and provides critical support for larger volunteer events and donation drives. The Development Associate also supports the mission of the agency by maintaining development records using Raiser’s Edge, and contributing to the grant writing process. The Development Associate reports to the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations.
Coordinate in-kind donations, including working with program staff to support the process of distributing donations to clients.
Provide logistical and administrative support for volunteer events and drives.
Maintain grant and volunteer records.
Write grant proposals and reports to foundations and other grant-making organizations.
Support the creation of presentation materials.
Acknowledge foundation gifts and keep accurate records in Raisers Edge.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
At least one year of experience in a related position required; administrative experience in a nonprofit or child and family services organization and/or experience with development or volunteer work preferred.
Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge a plus.
Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
Proven relationship-building skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with consistent follow-through; ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
