The Vice President of Child & Family Wellbeing is a collaborative, compassionate leader who oversees all operations and activities of the Child Welfare Program at SaintA. This is an instrumental, newly reshaped senior leadership position overseeing upwards of 70% of SaintA’s work. The VP will possess a deep understanding of and experience in the principles of trauma informed care. The adoption of the Families First Prevention Services Act will inform the upcoming direction of SaintA’s work. The VP will need to focus on developing, implementing and evaluating new systems in alignment with Families First in key program areas. Direct reports for this position include the Director of Child Welfare Services, Foster Care and Licensing Program Manager, and Administrative Services Director.
Specific Requirements Include:
Oversee all operations, activities and outcomes of the Child Welfare Program. Ensure the program is represented as part of the Executive Team priorities and supply strategic input to the work of the agency as a whole.
Provide consultation and feedback to the President and CEO and CFO related to short-term and long-term strategic direction of the Agency and the Board of Directors, ensuring that the child welfare program achieves seamless mission delivery and optimal effectiveness.
Manage, review and analyze outcomes and data in alignment with contracted objectives, in collaboration with the Director of Quality and Division of Milwaukee Child Protective Services (DMCPS), for continuous quality improvement.
Oversee Human Resources procedures related to the child welfare team, including recruitment and onboarding of staff to meet departmental needs; appropriate job scheduling, assignment and training; recommendation and approval of salaries, promotions, demotions and terminations; and coaching and counsel of staff for maximum performance.
Regularly monitor budgets and cash flow statement; demonstrate fiscal responsibility and efficient use of all Agency resources.
Maintain strong relationships with other social service agencies, Federal and state agencies, DMCPS, city, township, county governmental entities, towns, and other community groups and stakeholders.
Forthrightly prioritize equity, diversity and inclusion issues through thoughtful examination and planning to meet both client need and advance agency initiatives, and demonstrate overall commitment to the broader programs and mission.
Proven success in building strong and productive work teams in $15M+ complex, multi-service agencies with a similar mission and a focus on mentoring and nurturing staff development, preferably with some clinical experience.
Career track record that shows stability with an organization and capacity to develop and nurture relationships culminating in overall success.
Proven ability to build strong external relationships with a variety of volunteers, funders, public leadership, partner organizations and other stakeholders.
Master’s degree is required; preferably a MSW or MBA.
A minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience in administration, leadership and management, with documented ability to manage staff and lead teams.
Familiarity with applicable licensing standards; performance regulations; state, federal, and local guidelines/ordinances; grant requirements; and organization policies and procedures related to work of similar agencies in similar geographic (or larger) areas.
