Building Families for Children, Inc. (BFC) is a faith-based, family services nonprofit agency located in Columbia, Maryland. We share the love of Christ by helping Maryland’s most vulnerable children thrive in families. BFC has a full-time opening for a CHOSEN Program Director in our Treatment Foster Care program.
The CHOSEN Program Director is responsible for planning and directing the CHOSEN treatment foster care program. The CHOSEN Program Director oversees the hiring, training, and support of CHOSEN staff and provides direct supervision of the CHOSEN supervisors & managers, as assigned. The CHOSEN Program Director oversees the intake of youth into the program, recruitment & training of foster parents, and clinical supports to families and youth through their supervision of staff fulfilling these functions. The CHOSEN Program Director motivates staff to meet strategic program goals and safety, permanence & well-being outcomes for the youth we serve. The CHOSEN Program Director represents the program and organization through involvement in outreach, advocacy and fundraising activities in the community. This position assures continuous program quality and compliance with licensing and regulatory agencies. The CHOSEN Program Director is a member of the BFC Leadership Team which directs and monitors the accomplishment of the organization’s goals.
Minimum requirements: an advanced degree from an accredited program of social work and at least five years’ of direct practice experience in child welfare. Maryland licensure, LMSW-required. LCSW-C and Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners approval to supervise candidates toward their LCSW-C licensure – preferred.
Applicants must possess the ability to work a flexible schedule with some evening and weekend hours, have reliable transportation and be compatible with a faith-based approach and environment.
