The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) is seeking an energetic, friendly and motivated person to apply for the Practice Management Staff Associate position. This individual reports to the Practice Management Manager and provides support to the Committee on Practice Management and Professional Staff Development (CPMPSD) and the Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Examination Advisory Committee (DAANCEAC). Responsibilities include coordinating committee meetings, conference calls and assisting with meeting minutes.
The Staff Associate supports continuing education courses developed primarily for OMSs and their practice managers, administrators, and clinical and allied staff. This includes approximately five in-person conferences and events each year, as well as webinars, and an online review course. The Staff Associate will assist the Manager with the creation and collection of course materials, help coordinate logistics with speakers and support the execution of live events. This includes ensuring all AAOMS educational programs materials comply with the ACCME Essentials, Standards, and ADA CERP Guidelines.
The Practice Management Staff Associate also monitors trends in the regulatory landscape as pertaining to OSHA, CDC infection control guidance, small business administration, human resources, FDA, DEA and other parties of interest, as well as compliance with state and federal laws which may impact an OMS office. This position writes topical articles as needed and assists in the development of related resources and products for the AAOMS membership. Excellent writing skills and proficient use of Microsoft Office applications is essential.
Strong communication and pleasant customer service skills are required as providing superior assistance to the AAOMS membership is critical to this position. The Staff Associate responds to all practice management-related inquiries in a timely and professional manner. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and will possess the ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks, be a team player, and have a working knowledge of the healthcare industry. Periodic travel is required for this position.
