El Sistema Colorado (ESC) is looking for an energetic leader to guide the program into a new phase of sustainability and launch a new central program hub. The Program Manager must be a passionate, inspirational, and collaborative leader who is committed to equity and to ESC’s mission of using music as a tool for social change. The Program Manager is the primary organizational leader over all youth and musical activities, directing all program planning and coordination, consistent and effective execution, and supporting the Teaching Artists and staff in continuous program improvement. This position reports to the Executive Director.

Lead the recruitment, hiring, and on-boarding of all teaching artists and program staff.
Manage and meet regularly with teaching artists and program staff.
Lead professional development and support consistency of approach and exchange of best practices in teaching and program execution.
Conduct observations and coaching sessions with teaching artists and staff, as well as annual reviews.
Lead Program Oversight
Direct all aspects of youth music programming, including after-school, private lessons, audition preparation, and summer camps.
Oversee student recruitment, registration, orientation, development, and retention.
Train staff to ensure all safety procedures are followed.
Plan and coordinate frequent public concerts and performances around the Denver area.
Oversee all program communication with students, families, staff, board, partners, social media, and the public along with support from the Board Communications Committee.
Plan common curriculum and repertoire with teaching artists.
Provide Program Leadership
Conduct internal evaluation and monitoring efforts consistent with El Sistema Colorado’s theory of change and guiding questions.
Create and manage the program budget with the support of the executive director and board finance committee.
Build infrastructure by codifying and streamlining processes and systems.
Regularly attend board meetings and report on the successes, challenges, and needs of the program.
Find and create resources that support all program staff and students.
Review and edit grant applications and grant reports.
Support fundraising efforts and donor relations.
Maintain and Develop Partner Relationships
Strengthen parent engagement, including overseeing Parent Leadership Team and regular parent meetings.
Oversee the program’s volunteer process, including recruitment, selection, paperwork, orientation, tracking, training, and appreciation.
Regularly bring in local professional musicians to work with and perform for and with our students.
Facilitate collaborations with organizational partners (e.g. Colorado Children’s Chorale, Rocky Ridge, DSA, CSO, Friends of Chamber Music).
Maintain program connection with school partners (Garden Place Academy, Swansea Elementary, and Bruce Randolph School).
Strengthen University Partners (e.g. MSU) including internships and private lessons program.
Develop relationships with other El Sistema inspired programs.
Participate in El Sistema USA and Sistema Global community, communication, and activities.
Bachelor’s Degree in the fields of music, music education, or education (or equivalent work experience)
Minimum 2 years of experience working with youth
Minimum 2 years of organizational leadership or program management experience
Experience working with youth of color and youth from under-resourced neighborhoods strongly preferred
Spanish proficiency strongly preferred
Google Apps proficiency preferred

ESC has served over 1,300 in Denver's most marginalized neighborhoods. We serve 150 students during and afterschool. We partner with three schools, have started a pipeline to the Denver School of the Arts, and are opening a new afterschool community center Fall 2019.
