Responsible for the success of all MBA consumer and member events including the Home Building and Remodeling Expo, Spring Tour of Homes, Parade of Homes and other member-related events. Relational sales helping drive revenue growth from member engagement, sponsorship and consumer attendance. Quality listening and reporting to Executive Director as an advocate for members/customers, for future improvements in products and services. This position will require management experience, appropriate problem solving, forward-thinking attitude, program analysis and knowledgeable judgment based on experience or research. Working knowledge of all MBA programs and member resources is essential to provide member and internal staff support.
This is a full-time salaried, exempt, position with normal work hours Monday through Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm. However, it is necessary to be flexible with hours, particularly during events, in order to complete the tasks in a timely fashion. Travel is minimal and would be within the Milwaukee Metropolitan area. Attendance at all member events is expected.
Manage Events Team
Strategic conception, implementation, planning, promotion, scheduling and evaluation of the Association’s events.
Sell exhibits and tour opportunities to maximize revenues.
Work with committees and stakeholders to constantly evaluate and revise major events to improve the consumer experience, increase attendance, enhance public exposure and generate steadily growing net income.
Design and implement strategies for measuring public and member attitudes toward events and the home building industry
Work with vendors and venues to execute superbly managed major events.
Work with volunteer leadership, committees and staff to identify strategies for improving public awareness of the industry and enhancing public exposure of events.
Collaborate with staff and external vendors to manage marketing collateral, guides, books, rate cards, advertisements and sponsorship opportunities.
Understand, manage and achieve program budget goals and financial performance standards.
Maintain accessible work notes and manuals for sharing knowledge of event timelines, planning processes and marketing functions with other staff.
Maintain accurate records of program achievements and performance measurements.
Maintain constructive relationships with vendors, members and staff.
Strong data management capability
Strong organizational skills, written and oral communication skills and attention to detail

Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
Minimum 5 year’s experience in event planning and marketing
Certified Meeting Planner certification achieved or attainable
Demonstrated ability to execute functions that contribute to successful implementation of major events.
Work with other Directors for budgeting and strategic planning.
Excellent project management skills
Experience working in non-profits or associations is highly desired
Expertise using Excel and other Microsoft software is required
Experience in exhibit sales.
Have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
