This Position will provide systems analysis and programming support to the Comprehensive Center for the Advancement of Scientific Strategies (COMPASS). COMPASS primarily functions as a coordination center for cancer research consortia including responsibilities for data collection, management and dissemination. This position will work independently and as part of a systems support unit to build, maintain and enhance custom built web applications that collect and manage research data for multi-site studies.
Develop software features and reports to meet user specifications and regulatory compliance
Modify existing complex classic ASP and .NET programs
Test & debug new and modified software
Assist in the design of applications to meet user specifications
Create and maintain documentation
Assist in creation of application architecture and design for small projects
Collaborate with other members of IT staff and end users
Trouble-shoot and fix bugs
Deliver through all stages of the software development lifecycle
Follow software development best practices
Participate in code and design reviews
Perform other responsibilities as required
BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field desired
2 year professional web application development experience with ASP.NET and classic ASP on MS IIS Server
Solid knowledge of relational database, programming and implementing SQL Server databases with stored procedures, database functions and ODBC and OLEDB database connectivity methods
Strong analytical abilities and problem solving skills
UI Development experience
Enjoys working in a team environment and has a proven record of positive contributions to the work of the team
Demonstrated ability to manage ever-changing priorities and multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work well with a diverse group of people
Experience coding to meet HIPAA and/or FDA validation requirements
Interest in biomedical research
