The Aspen Leadership Group is proud to partner with Dawson School in the search for a Director of Development.
The Director of Development will oversee the development office, including donor cultivation and stewardship, the Dawson Fund, capital campaign support, event planning, alumni relations, volunteer efforts, corporate and foundation outreach, and related communications efforts. The successful candidate will develop and implement strategies, tactics, and metrics in each of these areas to maximize community support for all aspects of the school’s operations and strategic priorities. An integral part of this role will be the ability to build relationships with parents, faculty, staff, students, members of the board, and others within the community.
Dawson School is the Boulder County region’s leading independent, college-preparatory school for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Dawson offers challenging academics, robust arts and athletics programs, and renowned outdoor and experiential education. The school is committed to the development of character, emphasizing respect, compassion, courage, and integrity, and to the social-emotional well-being of the community. 530 students attend Dawson School class sizes that average 15 students with a 7:1 student/teacher ratio. Nearly 70 faculty members work collaboratively with 40 additional staff to support the Head of School and the school's programs. Faculty members are nationally recruited for their expertise in their subject areas as well as for their diverse outside interests (many centered around the outdoors and the arts). Dawson faculty have an average of 17 years of experience and 67 percent have, or are working on, graduate degrees.

A bachelor’s degree is required for this position. At least five years of experience leading annual fund, capital, endowment, and/or similar campaigns is preferred as is at least seven years of experience in roles of increasing responsibility in nonprofit fundraising, preferably within an independent school.
