Summary Statement: The Research Coordinator is responsible for the research activities related to evaluation grants for transgender individuals, specifically those related to HIV and transgender individuals. Coordinates operations of the project as they relate to research and research grants.

Deliver TransLife Care Project research activities including bio-marker collection and baseline, 4 month, and 8 month study visits in CDC Evaluation of TLC Grant.
Participate in team that recruits participants into TLC intervention and research activities..
Coordinate and lead follow up contacts for 4 month and 8 month follow up study visits. .
Coordinate medical, housing, legal, and social support care for those who meet the TransLife Care eligibility criteria.
Assist in connecting participants to TLC providers addressing homelessness, legal, employment, and medical needs.
Develop and maintain working relationships with partnering agencies in research grants
Adopt and implement continuous effective engagement strategies throughout study period, such as texting and the use of social media networks to maintain client’s participation in program and evaluation activities.
Conduct outreach to transgender communities in identified partner agencies and venues as appropriate
Work closely with primary care providers, health care professionals, housing and other social service agencies to encourage participants to engage and remain consistently engaged in services
Along with Director and Data Manager, coordinate team oriented data collection methods related to research protocols
Maintain client files in accordance with Chicago House and funder policies/requirements
Assist Director with Quality Assurance activities conducted by departmental staff with direct reports who carry caseloads.
Attend and participate in appropriate staff meetings
Perform other duties as assigned

Bachelor’s degree in Human services preferred.
Previous behavioral research, case management, and social service experience
Knowledgeable in motivational interviewing, , trauma informed care, and harm reduction
Familiarity with HIV and treatment standards of practice preferred
Familiarity and experience with navigating systems of care preferred
Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills
Team oriented work style
