Utica College, a small comprehensive college in Upstate New York, is seeking applications for an Assistant Director of Annual Support in the Office of Advancement to have principal responsibility to implement initiatives that encourage greater numbers of participation-level donors from among the College’s key external constituents, including its most recent graduates. Under the supervision of the Director of Annual Support Programs, the Assistant Director of Annual Support will have day-to-day responsibility for implementing, and monitoring efforts to increase alumni participation through such efforts as crowdfunding, social media, recurring gifts programs, giving day activities, and other efforts that help to foster a culture of giving back to UC. In addition, the Asst. Director will plan and implement the Alumni Leaders of Tomorrow (A LOT) program, the Senior Gift campaign, and other student philanthropy initiatives, and will be an integral member of the “Upstate New York Regional Advancement” team. He/she will be assigned a pool of alumni who are currently not giving to the College and be expected to conduct quality personal visits and telephone interactions with alumni throughout the Upstate NY region.

Primary responsibilities include:
Frontline Fundraising (40%): Serving on the Upstate New York Regional team, work collaboratively with members of the Annual Support, Development, and Alumni & Parent Relations teams to build and implement pilot initiatives to strengthen alumni involvement with the College through giving, volunteering, attending, and connecting (GVAC); Conduct quality personal visits as assigned throughout the Upstate New York region to increase the level of activity from alumni through the four channels of engagement (GVAC); Support the Director and the Annual Support team on all matters pertaining to increasing the number of donors who give at the participatory level – contributions between $1 and $999.
Special Giving Initiatives (30%): Assist in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of all crowdfunding initiatives designed to increase annual support for both restricted and unrestricted purposes; Assist in the design, implementation, and day-to-day monitoring of efforts to encourage and sustain recurring gifts programs for all constituents; Lead a cross-Division, and cross-College team for the planning and execution of all “Giving Day” activities on an annual basis; Research and propose other special initiatives that can be deployed in support of increasing alumni involvement through the four channels of engagement.
Student Philanthropy (25%): Plan, recruit and lead the Alumni Leaders of Tomorrow (ALOT) program; plan and execution of all activities for the annual Senior Gift Campaign, including the identification and selection of the gift committee, the selection of a proposed “class gift,” program, and all other student-led initiatives to support College priorities.
Other Duties (5%): Provide operational and planning support for all annual giving programs as may be required; Possession of a valid U.S. driver’s license. License must meet insurance company rules and regulations for driving underwriting criteria. Must maintain a clean driving record as defined by College insurance carrier guidelines.
Bachelor’s degree is required; Consideration may be given to candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience if that experience is in a college or university, or other nonprofit environment.
