The Degree Programs and Student Affairs Office of Career Advancement (OCA) at Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) seeks a creative, proactive, and versatile 28 hour per week Employer Relations Assistant to provide administrative and event support to a busy office that serves students, alumni, and employers. This position is located in the HKS Office of Career Advancement in support of our Employer Relations (ER) team.
The ER team is engaged in developing and maintaining relationships with employers (often alumni of the School). This includes research, employer outreach, employer events (on-campus, virtual, and regional), job postings, and daily communication with our partner employers. The ER Assistant will play a key role in ensuring all ER programming and events run smoothly. In addition, the ER Assistant will be a part of the larger OCA team, which supports students and alumni in their career development through individual career coaching, workshops and panels, alumni connections, cross-School engagement, etc. We value and are dedicated to the goal of building a diverse community. Responsibilities The successful applicant will be a self-starter open to collaboration who will work closely with the Associate Director of Employer Relations to:
Provide administrative support for events including all event logistics communication, advertising, room reservations, media/AV support, catering, follow-up.
Coordinate outreach, communication, and logistics for OCA's Career Chats series including communicating with practitioners, scheduling, room reservations; technology setup for virtual chats, recordkeeping, and publicity.
Monitor employer inbox responding to general inquiries, arranging follow-up calls/communication, triaging with other staff members as appropriate
Assist with arrangement of on-campus and off-campus meetings with employers including communication, scheduling, publicity, and location logistics.
Assist with employer outreach via phone, email, and mailings.
Create, maintain, and update databases and other materials as needed including recruitment resources, contacts records, and job/internship lists.
Provide back-up support for other OCA staff and events as needed.
Perform other duties as required.

Minimum of two years of related administrative support experience required (intern/externships count)
BA/BS degree strongly preferred.
Familiarity with government/NGO/nonprofit career paths helpful
Career office experience and/or event planning a major plus
Previous experience with the following online platforms helpful:
Symplicity career management software (or similar platform)
Skype, Webex, or Zoom
Must be very comfortable with Microsoft Office suite.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are necessary; strong customer service orientation
Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to effectively handle changing priorities and adjust work flow accordingly; ability to multi-task, prioritize, and ask clarifying questions; demonstrated experience organizing and completing assignments with accuracy amid interruptions; attention to detail is imperative
