Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Director of Financial Operations plans, directs, and controls the overall administration of internal accounting and financial matters of the agency.
Major areas of responsibility for this job:
Studies the total operation of the agency to determine financial requirement and advises the Executive Director. Administers all insurance programs of the agency and recommends insurance requirements and policies that meet staff and budget needs.
Develops and maintains system and procedures for the agency financial operations, exercising independent judgment in conformity with organization policy and goals. Develops and administers non-financial systems and procedures related to business, clerical and maintenance services.
Facilitates the creation and implementation and development of annual budgets, goals and objectives.
Ensures compliance with any and all financial and contract reporting requirements for private or public funding, licensing, or regulatory agencies. Oversees the financial audit processes.
Maintains liaison with Treasure or Finance Committee of the Board and assists the Treasurer in maintenance of records required for control of assets.
Master's degree in Business Administration or equivalent; or ten years of experience or training in a senior financial management position; or combination of both education and experience
Thorough understanding of nonprofit accounting, bookkeeping, and financial management information requirements.
Management/leadership experience preferred
