Action for Healthy Kids® (AFHK) is looking for an individual to join our team as the Development Manager, based in Chicago, IL.
The Development Manager plays a key role in supporting the success of AFHK by driving the organization’s philanthropic and other resource development partnerships, and joining efforts across all sectors with corporate, foundation, government, and individuals to support the health of the whole child. Use your talent to support our resource development department, working to build and expand our individual donor program through innovative peer-to-peer fundraising programs and annual giving.

Development Manager Key Accountabilities
Support Director of Institutional Giving and Chief Development Officer with account management of corporate and foundation funders, including: staffing monthly sponsor calls/meetings, grant reporting, contract oversight, and CRM.
Lead discovery and pitch calls for new corporate and foundation prospects.
Work reciprocally and cross-functionally to support the writing, editing, and submission of funding concepts, proposals, and presentations.
Implement and coordinate individual giving programs, including: #GivingTuesday, annual fund, peer-to-peer fitness and marathon charity programs.
Support and attend key AFHK events and functions.
Salesforce or Raiser’s Edge CRM Platform management.
School health, education and/or related nonprofit experience.

Nonprofit experience in a development department.
Demonstrated strong writing and editing experience.
Previous peer-to-peer fundraising a plus.
Strong preference for candidates based in our Chicago, IL headquarters. Potential consideration for remote candidates in the major metro markets located in CA, NY, FL, and TX.
Travel required up to 10%. Occasional evening and weekend work required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
