About the Position
We’re looking for a Workers’ Compensation Compliance Specialistto work in a fast-paced Regulatory Compliance department to ensure that the Texas Association of School Boards Risk Management Fund (TASBRMF) is in compliance with internal procedures and Texas Department of Insurance Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) regulatory requirements.
Aid in developing ongoing process improvement strategies to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency
Keep current with Texas Workers Compensation indemnity rules and electronic data interchange (EDI)
Timely file EDI transactions for workers’ compensation adjusters
Manage internal EDI error and acknowledgement reports and maintains EDI reports
Develops and maintains EDI process documentation and desk manual
Assist with resolving EDI errors
Coordinates and facilitates EDI/PLN training and support
Responsible for updating all data elements and audits for Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) quarterly reporting
Responsible for managing, communicating and reporting on the CCH hearings/BRC notices and decisions
Responsible for monthly reporting on EDI, Hearings/BRC, medical EDI and regulatory changes for these areas
Responsible for managing and submitting Self-Insured Governmental Entity Coverage forms for members
Responsible for ad-hoc indemnity audits as needed
Must have knowledge of Texas Workers Compensation statutes and electronic data interchange rules
Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of workers’ compensation claims experience preferred
Texas Workers Compensation 03 or multi-line adjuster license
Knowledge of the Workers Compensation Dispute Resolution process
Knowledge of the Texas Workers Compensation Rules for Texas Indemnity and Electronic Data Interchange
Ability to identify, interpret and communicate policies and procedures to others
Ability to work independently
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Exceptional organizational skills
Ability to quickly become familiar with the company software
Ability to organize and facilitate training sessions
Ability to recognize potential problems and patterns and develop recommendations to correct
