The newly-created Director of Community Standards position is a part-time position (20 hours/week) in the Office of Student Life and reports directly to the Vice President of Student Life & Dean of Students. The Director of Community Standards is tasked with maintaining the disciplinary system in place to manage student conduct issues for both individuals and student organizations. The Student Code of Conduct applies to all currently enrolled students, and its major purpose is to help create a fair, just, and disciplined university community. The system adopts a redemptive/restorative approach and supports the educational mission of the university by educating students about appropriate behavior and by fostering a community in which student development can occur. The system strives to address unacceptable behavior in a manner that informs students and guides them toward a greater sense of personal responsibility and more mature and ethical standards. The Director of Community Standards will work twenty hours per week, including two full days in the office (preferably Tuesday & Thursday) and four remote hours. The Director will work with various departments on campus, including the Behavior Intervention and Care Team. Bachelor’s degree required. Graduate and/or training preferred.
