Our mission is to partner with schools and organizations in communities impacted by violence and poverty to teach young people critical lifelong leadership skills, preparing them for college, career, and positive engagement in their communities. The Civic Leadership Foundation (CLF) teaches young people the leadership skills they will need to be successful throughout life. We do this through a comprehensive project-based curriculum, teacher training, and program support.
The part- time (15 - 20 hours per week) position of Development and Communications Associate reports directly to the Development Director. This position aids the efforts of targeted fundraising goals, particularly the stewardship and operations of fundraising campaigns. The position assists in building, maintaining and analyzing the donor base, oversees gift acceptance/acknowledgments and reconciling of financial accounts.
Essential Job Functions Development:
Manage donor administration activities to include, creating and running donor reports, donor database entry, updates, invitations, thank you notes, and other materials. Heavy volume of correspondence from October – January.
Assist Development Director in preparing for and executing fundraising events such as the CLF Annual Awards Event, North Shore Interactive Showcase, and networking events such as corporate Lunch-n-Learn events and the annual information Salon. Other duties will include volunteer recruitment, maintaining RSVP and guest lists, assisting with securing silent auction items and on-site event management.
Assistance with grant research and preparing grant related materials.
Work with Development Director to develop and implement a planned messaging strategy that communicates the work of CLF to multiple partners across multiple social media platforms. Develop online fundraising strategies, campaigns/calls to action, develop and execute consistent communication to cultivate and grow donor base.
Manage CLF’s website and social media presence including developing content for print and electronic communications to support all CLF activities (program related and fund development).
Manage all social media (Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.) profiles. Assist in the creation and disbursement of newsletters. e-Newsletters, e-blasts, annual reports and direct mail.
Preparation and/or printing of presentation media and materials as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
1-3 years of demonstrated success in fundraising in a nonprofit setting.
Proficient with fundraising software and MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to work collaboratively across the organization and develop a deep understanding of the mission, programs, and values of CLF.
Superior written and oral communication skills as well as excellent research skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines and the flexibility to respond to new requests.
Entrepreneurial, creative, and collaborative spirit.
High level of attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and remotely; takes initiative and has diligent follow through.
Occasional evening and weekend work required as determined by Development Director.
