This position is responsible for the oversight of the accounting, human resources, operations and information technology functions. However, as a small organization, this position will also have specific job duties outside of management. In addition to being responsible for the financial accountability of both organizations, this position will be key to long-term strategic planning for the organization. The ability to recognize, analyze and extrapolate trends is key to ensuring that financial resources are available for strategic initiatives. As non-profit organizations receiving public funds, this position is also responsible for ensuring compliance with state statutes around the appropriate use of funds along with ensuring compliance with City agreements.
This position will report to the President and CEO and is a member of the senior management team. Description of responsibilities are described below, but not limited to:
Establishment of processes to streamline internal workflow across departments, utilizing existing technology and proactively sourcing technology tools in order to ensure integrated use of all databases and financial activity
Revision and establishment of financial policies to ensure adequate internal controls
Development and maintenance of short and long term forecasting tools
Coordinate the monthly close process and calendar
Preparation and management of the annual audit
Financial statement preparation for executive management and both boards of directors, these financial statements will include KPI’s to relate financial investments to operational results and dashboards to provide easily understandable information to end users
Budget development and coordination of the budget among department heads
Presentation of financial statements at committee and board meetings
Oversight of Human Resource functions and coordination with outsourced HR specialist
Oversight and collaboration on employee benefit renewals
Responsible for general operations, such as facility maintenance, insurance, etc.
Management of contracts and deliverables for both VFW and TPID
Coordination with outsourced information technology provider to ensure that systems are operating efficiently and in a manner that supports high standards and performance
Budget and cash management, proactive monitoring and reporting of variances
Coordinating and/or preparing tax schedules, returns and other necessary information according to statutory deadlines
Interaction as necessary with City of Fort Worth departments as they relate to VFW activities
Any and all duties that are necessary for the success of VFW
This position is key to VFW and will support all departments. As the senior financial leader, this position will need to make decisions within their scope of authority and proactively bring recommendations to the President and CEO. The ability to communicate financial information concisely and understandably to staff and stakeholders is critically important. This position is responsible for the training and development of the accounting and administrative staff. This position will also be responsible for providing staff training on internal processes, policies and new technology systems (such as expense report or budgeting software).
This position requires a degree in Accounting or Finance, or related degree, and a minimum of 10 years accounting experience with a record of increased responsibility and supervisory experience. Experience with nonprofits is a plus.

About Visit Fort Worth
Visit Fort Worth (VFW) is the official destination marketing organization for the City of Fort Worth. The mission of VFW is to drive visitation, both leisure and group, to Fort Worth in order to support and enhance the city’s hospitality industry thus creating economic impact for the City. VFW is a private, non-profit 501(c)6 organization formed in 1986. In 2017, Fort Worth created a Tourism Public Improvement District as a distinct, but related, entity. VFW is responsible for the management and administration of this public improvement district.
