National Able Network recently acquired a new grant in Omaha, NE and has several professional opportunities for positions to start in early July. National Able Network, a dynamic and growing nonprofit agency specializing in the delivery of innovative employment and training programs, has an exciting opportunity for a Training Specialist to start effective 07/01/2019.
The Training Specialist serves as a service-oriented facilitator to deliver Job Readiness training modules. Provides training and mentoring to clients to assist them in preparing for the world of work, obtaining and retaining employment, and achieving family self-sufficiency. Assists with the development and revision of curriculum as needed and provides stand up instruction.
Deliver all components of the Job Readiness Training curriculum, i.e., soft skills, customer service, job search, networking, workplace survival skills, life skills, and other skills required to secure and retain employment via classroom and live remote training sessions
Maintain participant training records and data to track participant progress and retention
Maintain and express enthusiasm and commitment to helping participants learn
Work closely with Area Program Managers/Career Coaches to provide clients with the appropriate tools and encouragement during their job search and once employed
Participate in Training Team meetings, staff meetings, and other departmental projects
Collaborates with Director of Training on reports and other requisite documents, as required
Assist with development and revision of curriculum as needed
Provides stand up instruction
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge or Expertise:
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software (to be demonstrated in audition interview).
Excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational and interpersonal skills
Service-oriented, empathetic, able to interact and develop rapport with a diverse population
Self-motivated, strong attention to detail and consistent, reliable follow-through
Team player who can multi-task; manage conflicting time demands, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
Proven leadership skills; thorough understanding of and experience with training best practices and adult learning principles
Minimum two-five years training/employment experience ideally with government funded programs and/or social service agencies. Previous workforce training experience is a plus
Minimum 1-2 years previous experience in computer instruction, delivery and facilitation of training for adult learners highly desirable
Must be available to occasionally work weekend or evening hours as necessary
Must be able to lift and carry boxes of training materials weighing up to 25lbs
