A nonprofit, non-governmental organization, CIEE is the world leader in international education and exchange. For 65 years CIEE has helped thousands of people gain the knowledge and skills necessary to live and work in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world by offering the most comprehensive, relevant, and valuable exchange programs available. Serving over 300 U.S. College and University consortium members, CIEE operates sixty study centers in over forty countriesthat support study abroad programs for over 6,000 students annually. In addition, as the largest sponsor for U.S. Department of State J-1 Visa programs, CIEE helps some 30,000 international students and others participate in U.S.-based exchange programs annually. CIEE programs and services span study abroad, teach abroad, international faculty development seminars, and inbound exchange study, work, and internship programs for today’s high school and university students, professionals, and educators.
Summary of Position:
Each year, some 5,000 foreign university students and professionals come to the U.S. on CIEE’s Professional Exchange (PREX) programs (Intern, Trainee, Professor& Research Scholar, Short-Term Scholar and Specialist categories).These participants spend their time in the U.S. in structured training programs with Host Organizations.
The Manager, Business Development will contribute to sales of these programs by focusing on new B2B relationships. The Manager, Business Development willcontribute to the sales strategy, develop sales leads, and manage relationships with high value clients and partnering organizations.
Analyze current and lapsed employer data to identify trends and business opportunities
Identify, reach out to, and close deals with potential partnering organizations
Sell CIEE services to immigration attorneys
Develop of promotional materials in collaboration with marketing team
Collaborate with others at CIEE to reach sales goals
Knowledge & Skill Requirements:
Demonstrated sales abilityExcellent written and oral communication skills
Attention to detail and sense of urgency
Ability to work across teams to achieve results
Demonstrated ability to work with CRMs and with data
Experience conducting analysis on sales data
Experience reporting on sales activities
Domestic and international travel will be required
