The employer engagement team is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing relationships with employers who may provide a variety of meaningful career development and employment opportunities for students. The Associate Director of Employer Engagement ensures that students have access to a broad range of career exploration and job/internship opportunities within a variety of industries and a diverse array of global employers. This individual coordinates recruitment and visibility initiatives for employers to reach Princeton students and alumni. This involves overseeing our robust on-campus recruiting program and an online career management system for job/internship postings as well as establishing recruiting policies to ensure all organizations abide by and work within nationally accepted standards for hiring practices including University, NACE and federal guidelines. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional career services team members, alumni and campus partners to expose students to career education that will help them: connect with prospective employers; obtain information about employment opportunities; understand recruiting processes; develop effective job search competencies and professional skills; and make well-informed career decisions when choosing among a variety of options. The individual will also work closely with the IT and assessment team to manage our online jobs and internship portal.
Leadership and Strategy Recruitment Program Management (70%)
· Manage the on-campus recruiting program, including overseeing timelines and employer policies.
· Manage our online job/internship posting system, and oversee systems and processes related to job approvals.
· Steward employer partnerships to ensure a robust campus recruiting environment.
· Oversee temporary workers and student workers as needed to support programs, systems and events.
· Direct external relations and oversee the successful implementation of all employer initiatives including those related to the on-campus recruiting program, employer facilitated career education or experiential programs and event sponsorships.
· Develop recruiting policies/guidelines and ensure all organizations abide by and work within nationally accepted standards for hiring practices.
· Act as primary advocate for students in the recruiting process and work with recruiting organizations to resolve issues or concerns with respect to policies and guidelines.
· Serve as primary liaison between recruiting organizations, faculty, development and corporate/foundation relations officers.
· Act as primary relationship manager for all employer organizations utilizing specialized knowledge of each unique industry’s campus recruitment model and practices.
· Proactively suggest new visibility options and programs to expand employers’ brand on-campus and publicity of opportunities across campus to ensure employers receive the strongest applicant pools possible based on student interest.
· Collaborate with employers to create career education workshops and networking events designed to prepare students with industry knowledge, job search or professional development skills
· Build new relationships in a wide range of industries and fields based on student interests and encourage employers (including alumni, parents and organizations) to post experiential opportunities, internships and full-time jobs and/or host career education events.
· Design innovative approaches and programs to attract non-traditional employers such as small to mid-size, startups, arts and nonprofit organizations
· Develop/explore technology solutions to facilitate virtual recruiting events for global employers
· Provide guidance to employers of policies, procedures and protocols relevant to accessing and recruiting our students.
· Proactively recommend employer sponsorship and partnership options to deepen existing relationships.
Reporting and Analysis (30%)
· Conduct job market, recruiting and industry research regarding college student hiring trends
· Conduct benchmarking with peer institutions regarding best practices in campus
· Produce multiple recruiting reports throughout the year
· Manage revenue generated from fee-based recruiting services, sponsorships and event registrations
