Arts and Science is seeking a dynamic Assistant Director for Partnerships and Operations to join the Center on International Cooperation(CIC). This individual will serve as a key driver of CIC's fundraising and grant management efforts, and assist with management of day-to-day operations. The principal job responsibilities are donor relations; fundraising and grant management; and assisting the Director and Deputy Director with operational oversight and management. This member of CIC's internal management team is the liaison between CIC and internal NYU offices important to grant management and operations. The position requires an ability to communicate effectively both in written and oral form, to problem-solve in a timely fashion, to have fluency with budgets and financial reports, and be sensitive to the needs of a wide range of internal and external constituencies.
Required Education: Master's Degree in non-profit management, business administration, public administration, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Required Experience: 7+ years experience overseeing fundraising, grant management, and operational activities.
Preferred Experience: Fundraising and development for a nonprofit - Fund accounting - Working within a global organization and handling international financial transaction.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks while maintaining strong attention to detail. Interpersonal skills to create and maintain positive relationships and to effectively represent CIC both internally at NYU and externally with donors. Solid understanding of donor landscape for nonprofits working in CIC's space (international development, human rights, think-tanks, etc.). Analytical skills and ability to solve problems creatively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience in writing effective grant proposals. Solid Excel skills and fluency with numbers and budgets.
