Schechter Manhattan, a progressive K-8 Jewish day school, seeks a highly organized and entrepreneurial individual to join our development and admissions teams. The Development and Outreach Associate will help create and implement programs that build awareness of our school in the community, and provide support towards fundraising and admissions efforts. In addition, the Development and Outreach Associate will provide some support to front office staff to assist with routine administrative tasks.
This is a full-time position, working as part of a small staff in support of Schechter Manhattan’s outreach efforts to include community and donor engagement, family outreach, and special events. This role will work under the supervision of the Director of Development and Operations.
Collaborate with the team to create and implement successful development, admissions and outreach strategies.
Maintain and update donor database (DonorPerfect) and admissions tracking systems (TADS); generate reports; prepare correspondence; provide general assistance.
Create acknowledgement letters and routine communications with donors and applicants in a timely manner.
Create flyers and other promotional materials to support Admissions and Development events.
Assist with event conceptualization, planning and day-of tasks: room set up, registration, etc.
Manage event photos; identify photos for use in promotional materials and social media.
Draft social media posts and update website as needed.
Prepare daily and weekly email notices.
Provide general office support.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong administrative and organizational abilities, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the capacity to learn and utilize fundraising databases, WordPress and Mailchimp.
Detail oriented, able to meet deadlines, and capable of prioritizing and managing multiple assignments in a busy environment.
Interest and/or experience in the areas of development, marketing, outreach, admissions, and/or social media.
Sensitivity and discretion handling confidential information.
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree and some experience in nonprofit and/or philanthropy settings.
