Position Summary: THIS IS A 50% POSITION (PART-TIME)
CEB (Continuing Education of the Bar) is nonprofit program of the University of California dedicated to the delivery of superior, California-specific legal resources and solutions to the state's lawyers. Founded in 1947 to help WWII veterans returning home resume the practice of law, CEB, now located in Oakland, supports the University of California's education and public service mission by providing the finest research, writing, and presentation by the best and brightest lawyers in the state.
Responsible for the supervision and work direction of warehouse staff. Work with Warehouse Manager to determine appropriate stock control methods and operating policies and procedures. Plan, organize, and direct the following functions: space and staffing requirements, some stock selection and procurement, vendor relations, and inventory management. Responsible for receiving, inspecting and delivering shipments, traffic control and freight bill payment. Function backup to Warehouse Manager when required. Open and close the warehouse daily.

Duty 1: Implement policies and procedures for order fulfillment.
Closely oversees and monitors order operations throughout each day.
Create and maintain duty rotation to ensure that all orders are completed in the specified time frame and that performance standards are met.
Implement policies and procedures for receiving of product.
Oversee and monitor receipt of product and supply shipment from vendors, common carriers, UPS, and others.
Implement policies and procedures for inventory management and supervise staff conducting these activities.
Implementing policies and procedures for interleafing of product and supervise staff engaged in this activity
Ensure warehouse staff is properly trained and maintains necessary certifications.
Conduct performance evaluations of warehouse staff in partnership with Warehouse Manager. Function:Staff Supervision Percent: 35
Duty 2: Review bill of lading for accuracy when receiving product.
Inspect shipment for damage and verify quantity and quality of product received.
Accurately input inventory on appropriate automated systems
Coordinate with CEB manufacturing specialist, inventory analyst, and vendors to resolve problems with quality, quantity, or timing of shipments.
Ensures that storage facility is consistently organized so that storage space is used as efficiently as possible.
Maintain accurate floor plans and product location charts.
Ensure that all cartons, pallets, and bin locations are clearly marked with correct CEB part numbers, quantities, and dates of publication.
Create new part numbers for all new products. Accurately perform routine cycle counts and make necessary adjustments on inventory systems.
Delete all terminated parts from the inventory system, and recycle.
Create kitting orders when needed. Function:Inventory Management/Order Fulfillment Percent: 25
Duty 3: Responsible for purchasing all packaging and other supplies. Work with vendors to evaluate and select packaging supplies and materials. Determine needed inventory and reorder as necessary.
Organize and monitor archived CEB administrative files, bulk papers supplies, janitorial supplies, and miscellaneous furniture and equipment. Recycle administrative files according to kill dates. Pull stock from miscellaneous supplies and distribute or prepare for pickup. Function:Supply Management Percent: 20
Duty 4: Responsible for opening and closing warehouse.
Responsible for troubleshooting equipment and systems problems.
Responsible for maintaining safety standards on the warehouse floor.
Function as backup for Warehouse Manager when necessary. Function:Warehouse Management Percent: 20
Job Requirements High school diploma or GED
1-2 years of warehouse supervisory experience
Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects
Ability to delegate work when appropriate
Excellent organizational skills
Strong customer service focus
Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures
Ability to lift and move 50 pounds unassisted
Must be able to pass and maintain forklift certification.
Excellent problem-solving ability with calm demeanor
