General Summary: The Development Coordinator is in a position to make a lasting impact on serving our veterans. This development position, reporting to the Development Officer, is responsible for assisting with donor recognition, relations, reporting, and research. The Development Coordinator should represent MSHV’s core values; emphasizing compassion, dedication, and a “can-do” attitude. The position will be responsible to support the Development Office in the following areas: database management, donor recognition and engagement, as well as reporting.
Provide administrative support to the Development Office with careful attention to detail.
Collaboratively work with all departments at MSHV to capture and communicate effectively the breadth of work with veterans.
Coordinate and implement a variety of MSHV donor events and community outreach.
Support Development Officer with donor reports and research.
Calendar management for Development Office.
Process all donations and ensure attention to detail in timely and thoughtful donor recognition.
Help ensure the development office is delivering individualized attention to supporters.
Create and maintain donor records and provide team with appropriate information for meetings.
Represent MSHV at community events.
Demonstrate ability to effectively manage multiple tasks at the same time.
Prepare and maintain accurate fiscal recording as required.
Participate in community networking as assigned.
Conduct tours of MSHV for community partners.

Bachelor’s Degree in Nonprofit Management, Social Services, or related studies preferred.
1 to 3 years of experience in development (course work and internships considered).
Veteran status a plus.
CRM database and data entry experience (will train in Donor View software used).
Exceptional communication and problem solving skills; adept at taking initiative to seek out resources and solutions.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects. Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Competent in Microsoft Office: including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Must be available for occasional evening/weekend hours as needed.
