The Public Health Law Center, a dynamic, public interest affiliate of Mitchell Hamline School of Law in Saint Paul, Minnesota has an immediate opening for a full time Program and Grants Coordinator to assist the Director of Operations with grants coordination and the day-to-day operations of the Center.
The Public Health Law Center is one of America’s preeminent centers of expertise in public health law and policy. The Center uses the law to improve health by supporting the development of cutting-edge policies, providing guidance on public health legal issues, and helping defend effective laws against legal challenges. The Center works on laws and policies for a variety of jurisdictions, including local, state, federal, and Tribal jurisdictions.
The Program and Grants Coordinator will be responsible for: general program coordination including assisting with fiscal activities including budgeting; accounts payable and receivable, financial reporting, and the management of grant submissions; assist the Center staff with a variety of operational needs; assist with monitoring and reporting grants and subcontracts; assist with grant implementation processes and tracking grants and contract activities and grants and contract compliance. We are looking for someone who shares our commitment to continued learning on issues related to racial and social justice, including the social determinants of health, implicit bias, and systemic oppression.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, public administration or related degree; 3-5 years’ experience including financial program management and experience with federal grants in a nonprofit environment (may consider combination of education and experience); excellent computer skills including Excel and Word; strong interpersonal and communication skills; and ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
