The Ayers Institute is seeking a Professor of Practice – Pre-K Professional Learning Program Director, who will lead a comprehensive professional learning initiative for Pre-K educators, as part of a city-wide effort initiated by the Nashville Mayor’s Office and in collaboration with United Way of Metropolitan Nashville and other stakeholders. The Program Director will organize a Teacher Cadre and Advisory Committee to inform the development of professional learning for diverse citywide Pre-K providers. The director will be responsible for planning and leading all meetings with these groups. The Program Director will take the lead on developing content for professional learning and will work in collaboration with other Ayers Institute personnel to develop the digital formats (lesson videos, webinars, podcasts, etc.) for the content. The Program Director will also develop communications and marketing of Pre-K resources and professional learning, in close partnership with all external stakeholders, as well as Lipscomb's University Communication and Marketing (UCM) Office. The successful candidate will be expected
to serve as the liaison between the Ayers Institute and external stakeholders regarding Pre-K initiatives,
to work as the lead for developing all Pre-K professional learning, and
to work in partnership with a range of public and private stakeholders.
Additional Comments & Information:
Expertise and experience in Pre-K instruction, assessment, and curriculum development, as well as the ability to communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders invested in Pre-K education and early childhood teacher preparation (public and private pre-K providers, higher education, state, and national organizations) are required skills and knowledge.
Please note, this position is funded each year through a partnership, so the availability of this position is dependent on that funding. The position is posted as a one-year position with the potential for following years determined by partnership funding.
