The Brigid Alliance seeks a full time Development Director to oversee all fundraising activities and related reporting duties. Reporting to the Director and working with key Board members, the Development Director will be expected to both retain current donor relationships and expand capacity. The Brigid Alliance is a very small team with the potential for rapid growth, and the Development Director will be expected to proactively work to build and grow an organization that is still in startup mode. We seek a Development Director who will be excited by this opportunity.
About Brigid:The Brigid Alliance is a NYC-based nonprofit organization that provides transportation funding assistance for individuals who are required to travel for abortion care. Since our launch in August of 2018, we have served over 200 clients.
We envision a world where our services won’t be necessary, where the full range of abortion care is legal, safe and available for all. Until that day, we will continue to provide compassionate, respectful, judgement-free, logistical support for people who must travel for abortion care, and will collaborate with clinics and with the local support groups where our clients live and travel.
Key Responsibilities Strategy and Operations: The Development Director will be responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, in collaboration with the Board and Director. This person will also be responsible for tracking all incoming gifts in the donor database, sending gift acknowledgements, and regularly reporting the effectiveness of each fundraising campaign to the Board and Director.
Individual Donors: Primary focus of the Development Director will be cultivating ongoing relationships with existing donors, forging new relationships with potential donors, organizing cultivation events in conjunction with the Board of Directors and Fundraising Advisory Committee, and ensuring that proper relationships are built between donors, Board and staff.
Foundation Support: The Development Director will be responsible for researching, soliciting and cultivating relationships with key foundations, applying to six potential grants in the first year and any necessary subsequent reporting.
Communications: The Development Director will also be responsible for sending quarterly newsletters to a growing mailings list of supporters and one to two annual online giving campaigns.
