The Palo Alto Veterans Institute for Research (PAVIR) is seeking a Clinical Research Assistant to help manage the day-to-day conduct of an implementation study of prolonged exposure therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Duties will include supporting the study Management Core with overall management and coordination of the study, and in particular all activities related to data collection and intervention delivery.
This is a regular, full time (40 hrs/wk), non-exempt (hourly-paid) position. Benefits:

PAVIR is a nonprofit foundation affiliated with the Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS). As a condition of employment, all PAVIR employees are required to have an approved appointment with VAPAHCS and complete a background check before they can commence work.
Assist with collecting data and intervention delivery;
Ensure the study standard operating procedures relating to data collection, study training, and implantation intervention activities are being followed;
Help with the preparation, review, and editing of study materials;
Obtain and maintain Stanford Institutional Review Board approval;
Perform statistical analyses and interpretation of study data.
Assist with coordinating day-to-day project and office activities;
Assist in monitoring the work of the study's Implementation Core and Data Core;
Help organize meetings with Implementation Core and Data Core;
Schedule and participate in weekly teleconference calls with the study team;
Coordinate study related travel for the study personnel;
Provide general administrative support to the study Management Core. Communicate any deviations, including delays, a timely fashion.
Assist with other study-related duties as needed.
Required: Bachelor's degree (or Senior-year Bachelor students with a graduation date scheduled for 2019) in psychology, social sciences, administration or related field;
Desired: Master's degree in psychology, social sciences or related field.
Required: 2 years or more of experience supporting research activities (including experience accumulated while completing a college degree);
Desired: Statistical analysis expertise and experience with IRB preparation and maintenance strongly preferred.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Experience using computer programs such as Endnote and Microsoft Office products;
Organized, detail-oriented, self-directed, and dependable;
Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize workload;
Ability to work as part of a team;
Excellent Microsoft Office computer skills;
Able to learn VA regulations and procedures regarding research;
Effective interpersonal skills, excellent verbal communication and written skills.
Environmental Conditions / Physical Demands:
Physical: Lifting up to 20 lbs occasionally, sitting and standing for long periods of time, bending, repetitive motion, etc.
Environmental: Exposure to office environment and office equipment.
