Lead cross-divisional project teams, applying Ounce project management methodologies, tools and processes, based on industry best practices, on a portfolio of projects. Provide senior-level, internal and external project management to advance short- and long-term strategic priorities related to program, policy, and research initiatives aimed at improving the quality of early learning experiences as well as critical infrastructure projects aimed at shaping the future of the organization and supporting the implementation of the 2019-2023 Strategic Plan. Support Project Management Office (PMO) leadership in the early stages of establishing an enterprise Project Management Office, contributing to the design, execution and continuous quality improvement of PMO operations.
Essential Job Duties
Provide senior-level project management for a portfolio of multi-year projects central to the delivery of the Ounce’s strategic plan to establish a dynamic, effective and democratic marketplace of consumers and contributors of knowledge – specifically, the expertise, resources, learnings and connections to implement quality early childhood experiences at scale – to accelerate impact and bring coherence to the fragmented early childhood field.
Implement and inform the improvement of standardized project management methodologies, tools and processes across major cross-divisional projects.
Ensure successful implementation of project management activities for assigned projects throughout the project life cycle, including resource management, scope and timeline management, change control, quality assurance management, issue and risk management, communication management, and stakeholder management.
Create and manage work plans, project management deliverables and workflow balance throughout the project life cycle; proactively anticipate and identify challenges to achieving project milestones and benchmarks, monitor project metrics and initiate actions to facilitate resolution of issues.
Maintain a comprehensive view of assigned projects; support project leadership in overall management; deliver functional expertise to ensure that projects have the necessary resources and capacity needed to deliver on project objectives with a high degree of quality; consolidate and synthesize information from across strategic projects to inform analysis and decision-making.
Support PMO leadership in advancing the functional skill development of staff managing strategic projects across the organization; partner with PMO leadership to establish and improve PMO services for the organization.
Provide support to project team members in advancing deliverables and participate in meetings with content, program, policy and research experts to advance project goals.
Develop and manage project budgets in collaboration with assigned project teams and project leadership.
Supervise and onboard project managers, to be assigned/determined.

Required Qualifications – Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.)
Bachelor’s degree in social service administration, public administration, business management, education or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
Five to seven years of experience in project management.
Project Management Professional Certification required.

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to understand, analyze, interpret and make decisions about information received. Must be able to effectively manage multiple projects in various stages of development.
Knowledge of Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or similar project management software and sophisticated Excel skills; proficiency using Microsoft Office suite.
Must have excellent command of English language and grammar, verbal and written and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and exercise independent judgment and accomplish assignments in a timely manner.
Ability to keep projects on-task, on-budget and on-quality.
Creativity and innovation and the ability to develop new and unique ways to improve operations; experience developing new systems and processes to guide and define new work.
