The Vice President of Development (VPD) is responsible for building Easterseals Hawaii’s multi-channel development strategy and driving the execution of all efforts. As a critical and highly strategic role, the VPD will help drive the future success of the organization by raising the resources necessary to advance the mission and expand Easterseals Hawaii’s (ESH) impact in the community. This role requires an individual with a strong track record of successful multi-channel fundraising in Hawaii, a professional reputation of excellence, integrity and innovation, and a longstanding network of donors and organizations that want to advance disability services across the Hawaiian islands.
Essential Job Functions:
Develop a multi-channel fundraising strategy that supports near term (12mos) and long term needs including measurable budget goals.
Provide vision and direction to build and manage a full-scale development program.
Develop and execute the plans to achieve strategy, with approved KPIs and formal quarterly reporting.
Recalibrate the donor data base to ensure comprehensrive and current data that supports easy reporting and segmention.
Create, implement and manage a comprehensive donor relations plan to support organization’s fundraising efforts including responding to donor concerns and/or requests, gift acknowledgements, program information and stewardship.
Foster positive, ongoing relationships to ensure donor longevity by maintaining contact and proactively educating donors on the results of ESH’s efforts.
Be an advocate for ESH programs and understand the nuances of the offerings required to effectively create resources that can be responsibily put in service while honoring donor intent.
Serve as a member of the SVP of Strategic Communications and Philanthropy’s senior team helping to build a culture of philanthropy across the Family of Companies.
Partner closely with the ESH CEO, Controller and Board of Directors to ensure they are building awareness of the mission and vison in the community and the profound need for the important services the organization provides.
Be an excellent colleague, partner, innovator and thought leader across the company and community.
Be fiscally transparent, responsponsible and an exceptional steward of ESH resources and donor dollars.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree Marketing, Communications, Finance or related field
At least 10 years fundraising and development experience in progressively responsible leadership positions with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role with revenue responsibility.
Verified track record of meeting or exceeding measurable fundraising goals in a medium to large, fast-paced nonprofit environment
Experience with mulit-generational fundraising strategies
Experience creating budgets and forecasting revenue
Experience leading large and small fund and friend raising events
Fluency in current fundraising and CRM tools (Salesforce and Classy)
Fluency in analytics, reporting and recalibrating
Experience leading people and mentoring individuals to high performance
Must have proven and validated track record of significant revenue acquisition in Hawaii

Excellent storyteller with the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of audiences
Skilled in conflict resolution and employee engagement
Ability to create a donor data base from scratch
A high standard of professional and ethical conduct, integrity, and accountability.
Experience developing or working with a planned giving program.
