The HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN) is the worlds largest publicly funded multi-disciplinary international collaboration facilitating the development of vaccines to prevent HIV/AIDS. The HVTN conducts all phases of clinical trials, from evaluating experimental vaccines for safety and immunogenicity to testing vaccine efficacy.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES The Travel Coordinator (TC) is one of two individuals responsible for facilitating the arrangement of all domestic and international travel for the HVTN.
The incumbent works under the direction of the HVTN Conference and Events Manager and in collaboration with other Operations Unit staff to coordinate travel arrangements, process travel reimbursements, assist in the organization of network events, and other administrative functions.
The Travel Coordinator is responsible for providing a high level of customer service while making decisions within the context of HVTN, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, NIH, and University of Washington (UW) travel policies. The incumbent is expected to use sound judgment to solve problems, take initiative to improve processes, and facilitate the resolution of conflicts in a diplomatic manner. The TC must also coordinate a high volume of travel arrangements while operating within a fast paced environment.
