The mission of New Moms is to express the love of God by surrounding young moms and their children with all they need to transform their lives. New Moms is a 35 year old nonprofit organization, with a budget of about $4 million and a staff of about 50, focused on serving young moms in Chicago and the near western suburbs. New Moms’ model provides a comprehensive range of services to young moms and their children including supportive transitional housing, workforce development, early childhood services, and parenting support and education. New Moms’ headquarters is located on the west side of Chicago in the Austin neighborhood. Our social enterprise, Bright Endeavors, which provides paid transitional jobs for young moms, is located nearby in the West Garfield Park neighborhood. We also have a building in Oak Park serving the near western suburbs.

About the Job:
As part of the Leadership & Development team, the Operations Coordinator works to provide agency-wide support across all three locations: Austin, Bright Endeavors and Oak Park. This position ensures seamless staffing of the front desk at all times during agency hours (9am-5pm). This position also coordinates purchasing, IT ticket follow-up, and various other administrative tasks for the agency. This position reports to the Director of HR & Operations, and works closely with all staff to ensure seamless service delivery. This position is located at our Austin Office. Salary: $34k-41k DOE.
Key job responsibilities:
Manages the scheduling, staffing + training of the Welcome Desk, ensuring that all guests, residents + staff receive a warm welcome, and are connected to the proper person. Ensures that all Welcome Desk procedures & protocols are being followed by all staff and volunteers. Personally staffs the front desk 4-7 hours/day.
Supports Director of HR & Operations with HR administrative functions, including onboarding prep, filing, scanning documents into BambooHR, and gathering documents for payroll.
Coordinates IT tickets with consulting company/staff + follows-up as necessary, keeping Director of Operations informed of any ongoing issues.
Coordinates + completes all purchasing for Oak Park, Bright Endeavors and Austin sites.
