Development Director

The successful candidate will have 7-10 years of experience in development with a proven fundraising track record; experience developing and maintaining productive working relationships with board members and donors; familiarity with donor databases; and be a strong email, phone, and in-person communicator. S/he must be able to prioritize projects and tasks effectively, work independently as well as collaboratively, take initiative, demonstrate resourcefulness, and respond flexibly to changing demands in a dynamic work environment.

The successful candidate will have a chance to work with leaders from various sectors and from around the country and be part of strengthening the Korean American community. As part of a small but growing staff team, s/he will be an active contributor to the strategic direction and vision of CKA.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field

• Seven to ten years of development or related experience

• Ability to travel and work on weekends and evenings a must

• Experience in donor relations, plus familiarity with customer/donor relationship management software

Skills and Commitment

• Excellent communication skills, including writing and speaking

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate effectively to senior professionals

• Must be organized, detail-oriented, and have the ability to work in team settings as well as individually

• Must be able to juggle multiple projects, prioritize activities, and meet deadlines

• Must be willing to travel several times per year
