General DescriptionThe Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) unit of the Krieger School seeks an Adjunct Professor to design and teach the online course of 470.754.81 Project Management for NGOs for the online Master's in NGO Management. As the nation's oldest and one of the most prestigious research universities, Johns Hopkins offers high-quality master's degrees and post-baccalaureate education to students located in the greater Baltimore and Washington, D.C. regions and throughout the United States and abroad.  A description of the course is as follows:  470.754.81 Project Management for NGOs This course will provide an overview on project management as it pertains to nonprofit work. The course will teach students how to manage the five aspects of project management:  project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and evaluation, and closure. Students will learn the full project cycle from start to finish drawing on actual examples of projects funded by a diverse range of donors, public and private organizations and foundations. The course will also utilize templates relevant to project management for students to use as a resource in the field. The class? will touch on issues relevant to project management such as project scope, objectives, stakeholders, planning, financial tracking, grants compliance, and closing. Elective course towards the Project Management, Evaluation and Leadership track for the Master's in NGO Management.  We invite applications to fill an adjunct teaching position (10-15 hrs/week), non-tenure track, semester-by-semester hire. The Master's program is fully online. The adjunct professor will report to the Program Director of the MA in NGO Management. The Adjunct Professor will have the following instructional and administrative responsibilities: - Design a 14-week course on project management as it relates to nonprofit work specifically; set clear objectives of the course, work with the Instructional Resource Design team to design 14 learning modules on the project cycle from start to finish; including recorded lectures;
- Teach 1 graduate course (unless there is a demand for more than one section) online using Blackboard;
Personalize the graduate course through Blackboard, including an international scope to the course to the best of his/her ability; - Learn online tools such as VoiceThread, Panopto and Adobe Connect;
- Grade assignments and provide regular feedback to students on the online discussion threads and in the grade center;
- Answer student inquiries via email within 24 - 48 hours;
- Complete other administrative duties associated with teaching as assigned.
